(ILCE = Interchangeable Lens Camera with E-mount)
Since changing to digital photography over 15 years ago, a camera missing from my kit bag has been a small, compact, trouser-pocket friendly point & shoot. The Sony RX100M3 is not going to be my primary camera, just something I can carry around day-to-day, but on this occasion it was as I took it out on a couple of Bimble’s (slow meandering walk) around the tourist spots of London to get used to using it and to see what it is capable of. In the order taken.
Techie bit. - It has a 1-inch, 20.2-million pixel Exmor R™ CMOS back illuminated sensor, a Bionz X processor and a Carl Zeiss® Vario-Sonnar T* f1.8-2.8 zoom lens giving a 24-70mm full frame equivalent. A pop-up SVGA OLED Tru-Finder™ electronic viewfinder and a 3-inch 180º tiltable LCD screen on the back.
